ARANYANI'S GARDEN In Hindu mythology Aranyani is an elusive forest deity, hiding in secret nooks of the jungle and fearless in her exploration of new places. She's a wanderer, happy to be alone and occupied with the business of feeding humans and animals by making sure the forest is nurtured and protected. The paintings in this series relate to my own experiences with the forest and its organic life. The botanical forms are mostly from imagination, but they derive from mindful interactions with the elements that make up the natural world. They sprout from sensory and dream influences, where memory functions as a connecting link.
